In the 1851 census Margaret’s daughter, Margaret was a student living in the home of Robert & Robina Locke [nee Law].
Robina is Margaret’s younger sister which confirms Margaret’s parents as Alexander LAW and Elizabeth Hind and not the Margaret Law born in Edinburgh about the same time. This possible confusion existed as our Margaret Law and Thomas Ritchie lived in the Edinburgh area for the birth of their two children and married there. They also married in Carriden with Margaret recorded as being from Cramond Parish, Edinburgh.
