The 1841 census has an Elizabeth Aitken, aged 55, born outside Stirlingshire, living in “Shaw Daur” in Falkirk with Matthew and Robert McCalpine, aged 30 & 20 and an Elizabeth Howet. No later information has been found about this Elizabeth Aitken so probably died prior to 1851. The 1841 census has an Elizabeth Main, born Linlithgow shire 1883. Her maiden name was Aitken and husband was William. This family has not been found in 1851 census which suggests this Elizabeth Main (nee Aitken) died before 1851 and her birth date seems a little early being 1783 not 1786.
