MemoLance Corporal CHRISTOPHER JOHN PARKER 1026, 7th, Australian Light Horse who died age 30 on 09 November 1917 Son of Henry and Margaret Parker, of Burdett, New South Wales. Remembered with honour GAZA WAR CEMETERY 1026 Private Christopher John PARKER, a 27 year old Labourer from Burdett, New South Wales. He enlisted on 11 February 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 9 November 1917.

The 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 6th Reinforcement, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A66 Uganda on 15 June 1915. The HMAT A66 Uganda weighed 5,431 tons with an average cruise speed of 10 knots or 18.52 km/h. It was owned by the British India SN Co Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 4 December 1916. The Uganda was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in Mediterranean, 27 May 1918.
