MemoJames Watt, age 29, a joiner Journeyman on the railways, lived with his wife Elizabeth, 27 and daughter Margaret, age 3 in Edin Road, Muirmadkin. Visting them was Janet Russel, age 56, a farmer’s wife. James and Elizabeth other daughter, Janet, age 1, was staying at her “grand parents” at New Dunyvan, Old Monkland some 8km away.
It is probable that Janet Russel (Watt) (age 56) is in fact Elizabeth’s mother and that she was married to John Robb, why James and Elizabeth’s children stayed with Fleming and Jean Robb and were described as their grand-children is hard to explain, but the Robb connection probably means John & Fleming Robb were cousins or even brothers although no John Robb can be found as a child of Fleming’s parents.
