Notes for George Thomas PEACH
“Henry’s son George Thomas Peach followed in his fathers footstep and was Gamekeeper at Moynes Park. In 1915 he married Maud Annie Argent (my Great Aunt) the Daughter of Thomas Argent and Sarah (nee Lewsey) just before joining the Suffolk Regiment. He was known to have been wounded in that war.
George and Maud had no children and after Maud died my Father kept an eye on his Uncle.
George died in 1966, he was 84 years old.
After my father died I gathered together the few items he had salvaged from his aunt and uncles life so that they would not be lost. George’s WW1 medals, a shooting stick, two or three photographs, a carved stick (lower metal attachment missing) given to George by General Ives, and Maud’s chair.”3545

“I can remember my mother Margaret Wilkinson nee Peach telling me about my Uncle George Peach fireing his shot gun up the chimney to clean it and my Aunt Maud getting covered in soot. Also my Aunt Rose’s husband getting drunk on Uncle George’s home made wine and spending the night in a ditch as Rose could not pick him up. Carrie Peach married Ceicel Day and lived in Bournemouth. Ellis lived at Hilgay in Norfolk and had one son Harry.” 3546
