MemoAlifred Hckling, an elderly man, who lived at Newcastle street, East Maitland, was killed at East Greta Junction last evening, shortly after- half-past- seven o'clock. He left West Maitland by the
7:31 train for Stanford- Merthyr. As the train was leaving .East Greta Junction, Guard Atkinson felt a bump under the van, and Immedlately applied the brake.
A search resulted In the dead body of the deceased being found under the brake :van. The body was badly knocked about, the neck being broken, the hips :and shoulders crushed, and the
legs mangled. The body was taken to the morgue. It. Is surmIsed that the deceased fell from the rear platform of the last car as the train was leaving the junction.
