MemoAttestation date joined 78th Foot Regiment (Seaforth Highlanders). Birth town given as Dormoch in Farr parish, aged 18 years. He was discharged on 27 October 1824 because of Pulmony disease. He served for 12 years and 63 days,as a private and his conduct was very good. His discharge was a month after his second marriage to Christina Mackay.

Note regarding location of Dornoch it is a parish north of Inverness not in parish of Farr which is on the Scottish north coast.
