MemoEdgar Oliver Jenkins, son of Mr and Mrs J Jenkins, of Lethbridge-street, Penrith, died at Croydon Park Emergency Hospital on the 24th April. Deceased had been ailing for some little time before his death, but did not relinquish work till the 17th April, when he went into hospital. He was the devoted son of a much respected family, and a loving husband and father. Widespread sympathy is felt for the bereaved ones. Deceased was a native of this district, and was 30 years of age at the time of his death. His education was received at the Emu Public School, and his early scriptural guidance and precept was obtained at the local Methodist Church In later years he was employed on the railway at Penrith, and on the removal of the depot to Enfield took up his residence in the uburbs — first at Auburn and afterwards at Burwood. He was married in Melbourne about eight years ago to Miss Elizabeth Wilson, of Prahran. He leaves a widow (who was very ill, but has since somewhat improved), a daughter (Sylvia) and a son (Cyril), aged seven and five respectively. Three brothers and three sisters also survive him, viz.: Cecil (Enfield), Roy and Sydney, and Mrs Chas Ezzy, Ivy and Marjory (all at Penrith). The funeral took place on Friday afternoon of last week, the remains being brought to Penrith and interred in the Methodist portion of General Cemetery, the Rev J B Penman officiating. Mrs John Price and Son carried out the funeral arrangements at this end.
