James Aitken, who married Harriet Ritchie was definitely the brother of John Aitken, baptised 2 September in 1792. The death record of John’s daughter, Lillias Black (shown here) in 1899 the informant was a cousin, Isabella Morrison, daughter of James and Harriet. This confirms James’ parents were John Aitken & Lillias Barcly.
