MemoDeath apparently early 1890s. A death in 1891 fits however further investigation found this John was born in Scotland and had been in New Zealand only 9 years. Possibly died in Bendigo, Victoria in 1926 [1926/4100]. Definitely dead prior to son John’s second marriage in 1935.

MemoAda and children (not Sarah & possibly Thomas) after 1911 as still a voter in Invercargill. Husband John was presumably dead or elsewhere. A Mrs Buchanan, aged 56 (actually 50) and 2 daughters arrived Melbourne from Bluff on the 14th June in 1913. Daughters ages were 30 and 26 which fits well with Mary & Emily. If true Ada’s sons must have arrived at other times.

When Ada married she gave Adelaide as her place of birth. She was actually registered in Melbourne. This fact suggests that her parents were not present at the wedding. Perhaps her parents were in Adelaide prior to her birth but after their marriage in Melbourne. Whoever gave information about Ada at the time of death knew she was born in Melbourne.
