190907 postcard from ER Argent
Postcard dated 19 Jul 09 , Monday, Elizabeth wrote to say she would arrive home on Saturday (24th) to she the family. This well might have been her last visit if she left for NZ the following month.
19090806 Blayney to NZ
Elizabeth had left Uk before 1911. No Miss Aitkens found in shipping departures .Apparently Elizabeth (Nellie) went to NZ with her Aunt (who is not in UK in 1911) and travelled under her Aunts name of Blayney.

Between 1890 and 1925 Churchill Julius was Bishop of Christchurch. It is likely Elizabeth Ruth was on domestic staff in the Bishop's residence (Bishops Court) 1910-1913

A card also sent home by Elizabeth from Christchurch. The card was an advertisement for Dutch Coffee which was distributed by a Melbourne Company and presumably cost Elizabeth nothing. See next picture for text on back.

19130617 Miss L Argent to Sydney
ERA was in Christchurch in April1913 but married in Sydney in May 1914. The only Argent travelling from NZ to Sydney in that period is recorded as Miss T or L Argent, the latter could be Lizzie!

Elizabeth Ruth Argent & hat
Family recollection has it that Elizabeth Ruth made hats for some of the time she was in London. John Argent had been told this is a picture Annie Lewsey not Elizabeth Ruth. If this is so she looks very much like Elizabeth Ruth in photos I saw as a child circa 1950-55. See also photos that follow below.
